This local inn and pub has excellent views of the eastern Grampian mountains. A warm welcome is guaranteed. Under the same ownership for over 30 years and the emphasis is on excellent quality beers. CAMRA Shire Pub Of The Year 2020 and a winner of many previous local CAMRA awards, it retains a strong reputation for its imaginative choice of beers, sourced from many Scottish micros.
As of late 2018, the beer is served on gravity with three handpumps remaining on the bar to advertise the ales on offer. Sometimes supplemented by several extra beers such as during the occasional Brewer in Residence evenings. A successful blend of popular family restaurant and marvellous real ale pub, it is appreciated by a dedicated core of regulars.
Stewart was presented with an award for services to Real Ale. Listen to his talk about the pub.
