Branch meeting followed by a Social in the rarely visited New Inn at Aberchirder, with an opportunity to sample all of the beers brewed on-site in the pub. This visit coincides with the monthly folk music session. The bar opens at 16:00.
Transportation to Aberchirder (Foggie/Foggieloan) can be achieved by
- M96 bus from Aberdeen Bus Station departing 14:10 (or 15.10), arriving Huntly Tesco at 15:21 (or 16:21),
- #10 bus from Aberdeen Bus Station departing 13:45 (or 14.45), arriving Huntly Square at 15:33 (or 16:33),
- with a change of bus in Huntly Square/Asda onto #301 at 16:05 (or 17:40).
The Inverness train from Aberdeen also stops at Huntly and does the trip in under an hour.
Unfortunately the return journey is not simple if you wish to return the same day! Anyone returning late to Aberdeen may need to hitch a lift from volunteer drivers (with a fallback of taxi) to Huntly or Inverurie to catch the last train (which departs 22:53) to Aberdeen (arrives 23:46). Please leave a comment on the associated Facebook event, or email the social secretary social@aberdeencamra.org.uk if you intend to come and we will try to work something out for return transport.
