Pub Surveys

Members of this branch are responsible for selecting the pubs in our branch area which appear in the national Good Beer Guide. All the information in that guide must be as accurate as possible. That is achieved by collating information about every pub that serves real ale in our branch area. 

In an ideal world every pub would be visited multiple times every year to obtain a true “picture” of the current operation of each pub. Unfortunately our Branch Area is vast and the number of volunteer-hours are limited. Some bars in remote areas struggle with footfall from branch members. 

Information from other sources such as the pub itself or from an informal visit during your travels is very useful. If a full survey is not possible, then often simple intelligence about pub ownership, supplying breweries or the name of the pub dog is useful.

It is very easy to tell our pubs officer what you know:

• Login to the national CAMRA website with your own id.
• Go to the page for this branch. 
• Find the pub and scroll down to find the “Suggest an Edit” button. You will see a page that looks a bit like this:
