Ship Inn (Johnshaven)

While it may always look closed, check for the small light in the window near the door or just do battle with the door latch to the public bar. First licensed in 1763, this well-worn howff offers a warming welcome with one handpull. The public bar (untroubled by time) has a traditional coastal decor complete with mixed fuel stove and bar counter water founts. Children are allowed in the adjacent lounge, complete with a pool table. Dogs are allowed throughout.
