CAMRA isn't just about beer; it's good to celebrate and acknowledge excellence in the pubs that stock our favourite tipple. Every year, as part of the selection process for the Good Beer Guide, all members of our branch have the opportunity to vote for their favourite bars, pubs and clubs. From all the votes the exceptional pubs can be nominated in these categories:

  • City Pub of the Year (CPOTY)
  •  'Shire Pub of the Year (SPOTY)
  • Northern Isles Pub of the Year (IPOTY)
  • Club of the Year (COTY)

These go head-to-head for the title of Overall Pub of the Year (POTY) and represent the region in national competition.

The branch also makes awards for Brewery of the Year (BROTY), and our Mainland and Northern Isles Beers of the Year (BOTY).

We may recognise the personal services that individuals make to the cause of real ale, whether as brewers, publicans or campaigning members.

And of course there are the national Champion Beer of Scotland and Scottish Pub of the Year winners to applaud.
